Our welfare statement

Welfare before vanity.

At Dirty Dog Huyton Liverpool, your dog’s health, safety and welfare always come before vanity or style.

Grooming will be carried out in the most humane way possible, and this may mean adjusting the groom to what is safest for your dog on the day.

This includes

  1. Shaving areas that are matted to prevent pain and skin damage
  2. Shortening the coat if brushing would cause discomfort
  3. Pausing or stopping the groom if a dog becomes stressed, anxious or unsafe
  4. Prioritising comfort over owner-requested styles when welfare is at risk
